An error occurred while saving the comment Milorad Ivović commentedChecking in should flag something watched, of course... but it should be possible to go back through and flag things you've watched without checking into them so new users can retroactively mark entire shows/seasons/episodes watched easily.
Stats like this would also help build a nice marketing/suggestions/commonality with other users database. I'm sure that information would be valuable as a market influence to the company.

It should be possible to retroactively check-in to stuff you've watched before... but it shouldn't be a check-in.
Checking-in should also mark an item as "watched", but it should be possible to mark something watched without checking in, as the implication is you're currently watching it when that is not necessarily the case.
It should then be possible to browse to a user's profile and see a list of everything they've watched organised alphabetically and by genre... instead of a chronological check-in list.
The usefulness to the company in terms of suggestions/marketing/commonality between users is immeasurable, but it would also allow future friend-to-friend suggestions to be checked against that list so that someone couldn't receive a suggestion to watch something they've already seen.
