I was just thinking about this tonight. It would be great to be able to look at the Syfy "channel" on Miso with a list of all their shows, associated badges, and such. It'd probably also be a good thing to have from a business development standpoint, as it would allow the networks to better promote their various shows.

I'd look at this as just an extra field for a show's Host to include in the setup. If the show has an official hashtag or Twitter account, you could use that in tweets instead of the spelled-out version.

This type of move would definitely lead to more community building and social discovery (both for the shows AND for Miso).

I think Milorad has a great concept for this (regarding a "watched" state for episodes). Checking in would automatically set the episode to having been watched, plus you could earn your points for participating in the moment. If you wanted to go back and "catalog" previous episodes, you could simply mark them as having been "watched" and get no points.

SideReel does a good job with keeping track of what you've watched and they use a model like this (though they don't use points at all on their site).

Also, the "watched" state would fit right in with Facebook's new social actions for Timeline.

I see this as being like foursquare's "Feltron Annual Report" or the "one year on foursquare" infographics. Much like others have mentioned, it could show you which genres are most popular, how many different shows you've watched, which days are most popular, etc.

I don't use either service currently, but it seems like this would be a great way to get data. If there was a way to be prompted to check-in when watching a show (rather than doing it manually), that would make it easier on the user.

The check-in comments are great, but I agree that a more robust discussion area around shows would be valuable.
